A letter from Mrs. Belcher
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for the support you have given us over the past 7 days of school. We are aware that we have asked a lot of you in order to keep our learners safe. The changes have included arriving at staggered start times so that not so many children are on premises at one go; to arrive only 2 minutes before your start time and to leave the premises and vicinity of the school immediately after drop off and pick up. We are also aware that we have sent a lot of children home with temperatures, sore throats, colds and coughs. We are very grateful that you have worked with us regarding this with many children now having received a covid test. We would like to report that all tests to date have come back negative. All classes have their own thermometer which they can use to check temperatures but we have decided that we will no longer routinely take this. This complies with RCT guidance. Within school we have been able to keep your children in their own class bubble for lessons, playtime and lunchtime. The only time they may potentially meet other children is when going to the toilet or in a corridor, however, these moments are very brief.
The staff of Maerdy Primary School are very grateful for all your support
