***NATIONAL DAY OF REFLECTION***
This past year has been incredibly difficult for everyone. Many families in Maerdy, and the Rhondda as a whole, have sadly been affected by the loss of a loved one due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
You may be aware of the forthcoming national plans to remember those lost on Tuesday 23rd March. These will include a minutes silence at 12.00, yellow hearts and ribbons being placed on windows/lamposts and a doorstep vigil at 8.00pm.
Maerdy, as a school and a community, would like to be involved in remembering those we have lost, and showing our love and support to those who are grieving.
On Tuesday 23rd March we ask that our children wear yellow to school as a symbol of solidarity. The children will also be making yellow heart designs on Friday 19th March to be displayed in your windows at home on the 23rd.
Our thoughts go out to those of you affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Please remember we are here should you need any support
